Modified Starch Powders
1. Oxidized Starch
Oxidized Starch offers controlled viscosity and strong film-forming properties, making it highly effective for paper coating and sizing. It enhances wax pick, gloss, and surface smoothness while reducing retrogradation. Derived from high-quality maize or tapioca starch, oxidized starch ensures flexible films, consistent viscosity, and superior storage stability.
👉 Widely used in paper & cardboard manufacturing, surface sizing, and as a thickener in low-rigidity gel applications.
2. Cationic Starch
Cationic Starch is designed for wet-end applications in paper production. It enhances fiber-to-fiber bonding, improves retention of fillers and fines, and strengthens the paper sheet. By carrying a positive charge, it binds efficiently to the negatively charged cellulose fibers.
👉 Applications span paper & board manufacturing, textiles, cosmetics, flocculation, rheology modification, and coating agents.
3. Spray Starch
Spray Starch is engineered to overcome the limitations of native starches by ensuring deep fiber penetration, higher retention, and consistent paper strength. Our formulations are customizable based on mill requirements, making them a cost-effective solution for quality upgradation in the paper industry.
👉 Commonly used for improving paper quality, internal strength, and durability in high-speed processes.
4. Thin Boiling Starch (TBS)
Thin Boiling Starch is a low-viscosity, non-congealing starch that remains stable across temperature variations. Its quick dispersion and transparent pastes ensure easy handling compared to thick-boiling starches.
👉 Widely applied in textile weaving (yarn sizing), adhesives, and paper finishing, where flexible films and elasticity are required.
5. One Shot Yarn Sizing Starch
Our One Shot series is a specialized modified starch for high-speed loom applications in the textile sector. It provides smooth sizing, enhanced tensile strength, and wear resistance, particularly beneficial for terry towel and fine yarn weaving industries.
👉 Reduces the need for multiple ingredients by acting as a single-product sizing agent.
6. Drilling Starch
Drilling Starch is a non-ionic natural polymer (maize/tapioca/potato based) used in oilfield drilling fluids. It controls filtration loss, prevents seepage, stabilizes borehole walls, and improves mud viscosity. Enhanced with biocides, it resists bacterial degradation for longer service life.
👉 Extensively applied in water-based drilling, completion, and stimulation fluids to provide lubricity and filtration control.
